How booking an Everglades trip works

1 · Check where the airboat starts

The park lists three airboat concessions inside its boundary, at 22700, 24050 and 26700 SW 8th Street on the Tamiami Trail. A ride that starts anywhere else runs outside the national park.

2 · Check what the park fee covers

A private vehicle pass costs $35 for 7 days. Non-US residents aged 16 and older also owe a $100 nonresident fee, including on tours, unless they hold an Annual or America the Beautiful pass, so ask whether a tour's price includes it.

3 · Compare time on the water

A standard shared airboat ride lasts 30 to 40 minutes; the Shark Valley tram takes about two hours and the Flamingo boats 90 minutes. Compare those, not the length of the day.
